Beauty With An Edge || Urban Decay

Hello bloggers!

~beauty with an edge~

Recently I bought the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and I've been meaning to do a blog post on it but just totally put it off, so here it is!

This is actually one of my favourite makeup beauty products right now. I know loads of people who say these aren't really shades they would use but they are perfect shades for me.

I got this a lot cheaper than what the original price is which was a bargain. It is the only naked palette I have tried so I can't really compare it to any others.

I love how there is a mix between shimmery shades and matte shades!

My most used shades are Strange, Dust, Limit and Factory.

I like to use Strange for my brow bone for a little highlight and the other shades for the lid, outer corner and crease.

I haven't used the really dark shades on my eyes as I like to keep it neutral and to be honest, it scares me wearing them shades!

I love to use the shade Factory for my eyebrows and it gives a really good finish which I love. It's such a good shade for my brows.

Strange - Dust - Burnout - Limit

Buss - Trick - Nooner - Liar

Factory - Mugshot - Darkside - Blackheart

❤ Have you got the Naked 3 Palette? ❤

Give Me A Cuddle || Revlon Colour Rush

Hello bloggers!

~give me a cuddle~

This is a lipstick that I put at the back of my makeup drawer and have found again recently. It's a lovely pink shade which is great for the summer, clearly why I've started loving it again!

This is quite nice for pale skin but would also look amazing with a tan.

It's a little bright when you first put it on so I like to blend it into my lips to make it a little more subtle. It goes well with neutral eyes and not too heavy makeup elsewhere.

Overall, I love it and you should buy it! :)

❤ What's your favourite lipstick? ❤

Lots of love,
Vikki x

How I Clean My Brushes!

Hello bloggers!

Now I bet we all have loads of makeup brushes that we might use on a daily basis, right? So of course, they're going to get mucky and dirty! It's been said you should clean your brushes every few weeks to keep them nice and clean and makes them better when in use. Do you know why we have to clean them?

When you apply foundation to your face, you are picking up bacteria from your skin, and it's then left to fester in the brush after use. The next time you go to use it, the same thing happens, except the bacteria that has festered from the time before, it now ALSO on your skin. It's a vicious circle, that I can assure you, will only ever cause you to break out in spots. Obviously eye brushes are a less of a problem, but it's still important to do a deep clean every few weeks, just to make sure they are bacteria free.

It's a hard done task that most of us will put of for a long time but it's something we all HAVE to do! It gets a bit horrible using the same brush over and over and watching it get dirty.  You don't have to own any brush cleaner or anything special, you can wash them simply with shampoo and water! This is the steps I take when I need to wash my brushes:

1. Collect all your brushes and lay them out ready to commence the deep clean!
2. Take a damp cloth and slightly dampen the brushes with lukewarm water.
3. Pump your cleaning product (or I'm using shampoo and I'm sure everyone has this in their house...I hope. I use my AVON Advance Techniques because I feel it leaves my brushes silky smooth) onto the top of the brush or onto the palm of your hand, whichever you prefer.
4. Start swirling your brush in the palm of your hand and occasionally add a drop of water to lather up the brushes for a deep clean.
5. Squeeze out the excess product and watch all of the dirty water disappear down the plug hole!
6. Repeat if necessary (if you have really dirty brushes or need an even deeper clean)
7. Leave them out to dry!

Whalaa! Now you have marvellous clean brushes that are ready for use again and you don't have to do this for a few weeks! Hooray!

❤ How many of you are now rushing off to clean your brushes? ❤

Lots of love,
Vikki

Mini Prawn Poppadoms Recipe!

Hello bloggers!

A fabulously simple shortcut canapé. You can also use thin strips of seared steak instead of prawns.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp sunflower oil
200g raw peeled king prawns
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce, plus extra to drizzle (we used Blue Dragon)
3 spring onions, finely sliced
20 mini poppadoms (we used Patak’s)
1 little gem lettuce, leaves separated and shredded
Handful of fresh coriander, leaves picked
Lime wedges to squeeze over

Method:

1. Heat the oil in a frying pan or wok over a high heat. Add the prawns and stir-fry for a couple of minutes, then add the sweet chilli sauce and spring onions. Cook for 1 minute more until sticky and glazed, then remove.

2. Arrange the poppadoms on a serving plate, sprinkle a little shredded lettuce on to each, then spoon on the prawns and spring onion. Drizzle with a little more sweet chilli, if you like, and top each with a coriander leaf. Serve with lime wedges to squeeze over.

Hello bloggers!

A refreshing drink to serve al fresco whether you're having a party or a barbecue, or you're just relaxing in the garden.

225g caster sugar
Finely grated zest of juice of 4 large, unwaxed lemons
1 litre chilled soda water or sparkling mineral water
Ice cubes and extra fresh raspberries, to serve

Method:

1. Blitz the raspberries and caster sugar together in a food processor until smooth, then pour through a sieve set over a bowl and press, to remove the seeds.

2. Mix the raspberry purée with the lemon zest and juice and chill until needed. Just before serving, slowly mix the purée with the chilled fizzy water, stir in some ice cubes and whole fresh raspberries, and serve.

TO FREEZE: Make the raspberry purée, then freeze in a container for up to 3 months. Defrost and finish the recipe.

Healthy Chocolate Mousse Recipe!

Hello bloggers!

A chocolate mousse recipe without the guilt? This version is lighter on the cals but still heavy on the comfort. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
100g dark chocolate, plus extra to decorate
1 tbsp. agave syrup
6 large free-range egg whites
30g caster sugar

Method:

1. Gently melt the chocolate with the agave in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water (don’t let the water touch the bowl), stirring occasionally. It should take about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.

2. Meanwhile, whisk the egg whites in a large mixing bowl until they form stiff peaks. Whisk in the sugar until the egg whites become glossy. Fold a little of the whisked egg white into the cooled chocolate mixture to loosen. Fold the remaining egg whites into the chocolate mixture, little by little, taking care not to knock out the air. Divide among 6 glasses (about 60g each), then chill for at least 30 minutes.

3.  Serve the chilled mousses topped with extra flakes of dark chocolate.

❤ Yummy! A delicious chocolate mousse which you can enjoy without worrying about all the calories! ❤

Healthy Pomegranate Sorbet Recipe!

Hello bloggers!

This is a light way to round off a rich, pasta dinner, or any dinner for that matter! Enjoy!

Ingredients:
200g caster sugar
½ cinnamon stick
1 tbsp. pomegranate molasses
Juice of about 6 pomegranates, or 600ml pomegranate juice, plus extra pomegranate seeds to decorate
2 large free-range egg whites

Method:

1. Combine the sugar, cinnamon, molasses and 100ml water in a small pan and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. Cool completely, then combine with the pomegranate juice and taste.

2. Beat the egg whites to soft peaks in a bowl, then fold into the sorbet mix. Either churn in an ice cream maker or freeze for 2 hours in a metal bowl, beating the edges of the sorbet every 30 minutes until it is firm but has a lovely smooth, mousse-like texture.

3. Layer the pomegranate seeds and sorbet in dessert glasses or bowls.

Profiteroles with Chocolate Sauce Recipe!

Hello bloggers!

Here is the recipe for these delicious mini snacks for parties or late night picks! I'm thinking of doing a baking series! Comment what you'd like me to do next. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
200ml cold water
90g unsalted butter
120g plain flour
4 medium free-range aggs

For the crème pâtissière:
4 medium free-range egg yolks
20g plain flour
1 tsp cornflour
300mp whole milk
1 vanilla pod
200ml double cream

For the chocolate sauce:
100g dark chocolate
120ml water
80g unsalted butter
60g caster sugar

You will also need:
A piping bag
1cm and 5mm plain nozzles

Method:
1. Heat the oven to 200°C/fan180°C/ gas 6. Line 2-3 large baking sheets with baking paper. Put the 200ml water and the 90g butter in a large pan and bring to the boil, stirring with a wooden spoon until the butter has melted. Remove from the heat and add all the 120g flour, stirring vigorously for a few minutes until the mixture thickens and comes away clean from the side of the pan.

2.  Return the pan to the heat for a couple of minutes to allow the mixture to dry out, mixing vigorously again. Put in a large, cold bowl, then leave to cool for 2 minutes. Whisk in the eggs, one
by one, until the mixture is a dropping consistency.

3. Spoon the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a plain 1cm nozzle.  Pipe 40-50 balls the size of small walnuts onto the lined baking sheets, spacing them at least 2.5cm apart. Push down any pointy tips with a wet finger, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

4. Lower the oven temperature to 140°C/fan120°C/gas 1 and bake for another 20 minutes or until dried out inside. Set aside to cool.

5.  Meanwhile, make the crème pâtissière. Put the egg yolks, 20g flour, cornflour and 70g sugar in a mixing bowl and whisk with a balloon whisk until combined. Put the milk and vanilla pod in a heavy-based pan and bring to the boil. Pour it over the egg mixture, whisking until combined. Pour the mixture into the pan and heat gently, stirring until extremely thick.

6. Push the crème pâtissière through a sieve into a bowl, discarding the vanilla pod. Cover the surface with cling film and cool. Once cold, the mixture should hold its shape when pressed with a spoon.

7.  In a mixing bowl, whip the double cream to very soft peaks using a balloon whisk, then fold it into the crème pâtissière. Leave to set for 10 minutes, then spoon into a piping bag fitted with a 5mm plain nozzle.

8.  To fill the choux buns, make a hole in the bottom of each one with the point of a sharp knife.  Insert the piping bag nozzle and squeeze in some of the filling.

9. For the sauce, put the chocolate in a heavy-based pan with the 120ml water and heat gently, stirring constantly, until the chocolate has melted. Add the 80g butter and the 60g sugar and stir until smooth. Transfer to a large bowl, then chill. 10. Serve the profiteroles on a large platter or individual plates, then drizzle with the chocolate sauce.

❤ WHALAA! Now you have some delicious snacks for parties or bites. Dig in! ❤

My Shoe Collection!

Hello bloggers!

So after doing my shoe spree/wishlist blog post recently I came up with the idea of doing my shoe collection! Just to start off, I don't have a lot of shoes like you might expect and I will have no idea of where I got them and how much they were! I hope you like this blog post! If you have any ideas for upcoming blog posts then please comment them below! Enjoy!

The first is my pumps! My favourite!

Yes, I know my feet look horrible and I am so so pale! I usually wear them with tights if I'm wearing shorts but when I wear them to school, I have jeans on, so I will put on my ankle tights! I love these and I wear them everyday!

The next is my Vans.

I haven't worn these in a while as it's summer but as you can see, these have been worn a lot! This is my second pair of vans and my first ones were blue! I didn't get blue laces with these, I got white but I changed them to blue!

The next ones are my boots!

These are the boots I wear in the winter, mostly to school! I wore these ALL THE TIME when I first got them, but then I got my pumps for summer. These are suede boots, have 2 zips on each side and have studs up the back.

The next ones are my Nike high tops!

These used to rub my when I first bought them, so I didn't wear them much but last year I had started wearing them so much! I really loved these and they're so sturdy. These were quite expensive because they're Nike aswell.

The next are my black converse!

These are quite dirty as I used to wear them a lot. I sometimes wear them with shorts but I would have preferred white ones. These can basically go with anything which is great.

These next ones are simple grey plimsolls.

These are so so dirty and worn out as I used to wear them constantly! I need to buy a new pair of these. They work the same as the converse and basically go with anything.

The final shoes are my wedges!

I love these! I got them last year for prom and they are so nice! I prefer wedges to actual heels so that's why I chose these and whenever I don't wear them , I keep them in the box! I'll wear these for parties, weddings, proms and anything fancy.

So that's all my shoes for this blog post! I do have a pair of gladiator sandals but I couldn't find them for this blog post! I hope you enjoyed and why don't you comment your favourite pair of shoes that you own!

Lots of love,
Vikki x
